Trekking Adventures In Ladakh

It is hemmed by the two of world’s greatest mountain ranges, the Great Himalaya and the Karakoram, and is cross-wise to two more, i.e., the Ladakh range and the Zanskar range. The geographical and climatic features of this wonderful place are so unique that only few places on earth could be compared but its beauty is still incomparable. Although it is situated in the Himalayan rain shadow but it does not receive any monsoon during the summer season. But the winter is full of snowfall, in the months of November to May.

Kargil is a small town surrounded by apricot trees. It is considered the most famous destination for hiking in India. Plan a three to four day adventure including hiking from Sanko to Drass via Umba and on Sanko to Mulbek via the Wakka La Pass. At a height of 4,930 m you will have the wonderful views of the shining range of Himalaya.
The Indus Valley is located in the centre of the Zanskar range and the Ladakh range. The valley provides you with a look on the history and culture of the Ladakh. Most of the population of Ladakh has this residence along this valley. It has an altitude of 3,500 m above sea level. You will find several Buddhist monasteries, tranquil villages, colorful bazaars and fairs and festivals that are the main attractions of Indus valley.
The 300 km long Zanskar valley is in the inner Himalaya and is higher than all other areas of Ladakh. It is surrounded by mountain and could be accessed through high passes only. Its climate conditions are very harsh but still it attracts a lot of tourists every year. It also has twin peaks named and Nun-Kun which are the main attraction for the tourists. Its rugged but exhilarating landscapes are also worth seeing. If you are interested to go trekking in Ladakh, you should go in the months of mid June till mid October.
